Bowling

Looking for an excellent retirement hobby?

Is Bowling right up your alley or something to think about?

We have all bowled a game or two with friends, family, or at a birthday party.

We had the pleasure of meeting an 88-year-old gentleman at a bowling alley in Las Vegas enjoying retirement bowling.

It got me thinking, how old is too old to bowl?

The answer is simple Never

Having difficulties lifting a bowling ball, then try using a bowling ball ramp.

Want the ball to stay out of the gutter, try using the bumpers.

Bowling is a great pastime for any age; even with limited mobility, you could still bowl.

He told us seniors gather weekly at the bowling alley to bowl a few games. He comes as often as possible.

When looking around, we saw seniors bowling, socializing, and having a good time.

What do you think?

Would bowling be an excellent retirement pastime?

Have we ever thought about bowling as a pastime?

Once a week, he goes to the local bowling alley to bowl a game or two.

Something he looks forward to each week.

To have a place to bowl, socialize and go home energized is terrific.

As we age, we might not have as many opportunities to meet new friends, and our circle of friends shrinks as we age.

A bowling alley is perfect for meeting a new friend or two.

Can you think of some of the benefits of bowling?

  • It might help you relax.
  • It might help you bend and move more.
  • Lifting a bowling ball could help strengthen your muscles.
  • It could help you meet new people and expand your social circle
  • It might help you stretch and exercise a little more

These are just a few of the benefits I thought of; can you think of any more?

Bowling Equipment

When it comes to bowling, you do not need much equipment.

You can use a ball and rent a pair of shoes from the bowling alley.

You can purchase a ball, bowling shoes, and a bowling bag.

Consider including a rag to wipe the ball off; that is all you need.

Before you purchase any equipment, try bowling for a while and see if this is something you would like to do more often.

If you would like to bowl more often, then purchase your equipment.

Bowling alleys charge per game; the price will vary depending on where you live and what senior discounts they offer.

What do you Thing?

Should you contact your local bowling alley and see what activities they have for senior citizens?

You just moved to the area and looking for a way to meet others; this might be a great way.

You may have been busy working and never associated with people outside of work; this could be a place to make new friends.

I know many of you have already been making a list of things you want to do when you retire.

I think bowling might be one to consider.

You get a chance to get out of the house, be around friends, make new friends, have fun, and exercise.

It sounds like something to think about and try.
